Educational Support for Children from Overseas (ESCO)

Regular Classes

As a rule, each class is on a one-on-one basis. Students study Japanese, mathematics and other subjects. For elementary school students, at the end of each class we play cards together. For third grade junior high school students, we start preparing for their entrance examination in September.

  • Dues : 3,000 yen per class for each term

Intensive Classes

Japanese classes during summer vacation

Besides Japanese, our students can do their summer homework and have the opportunity to work on their scientific experiments.

  • Target students : elementary school, junior and senior high school students
  • Date : for 5 days at the end of July
  • Place : Matsudo Citizen Hall (Class may be held at other venues)
  • Dues : 500 yen

Japanese classes during winter vacation

We assist the students in passing the entrance examination.

  • Date : for 5 days at the end of December
  • Place : International Friendship Room (Matsudo Culture Hall)
  • Dues : 1,000 yen

Special Events

Outdoor Activities “Let’s play outside”

Place : 21 Seiki no Mori to Hiroba
Autumn in 2012 : The students made “fried noodles and pork miso soup ”.
Autumn in 2013 : The students played dodge ball and performed the children’s play , “Hana ichimonme ”.

Parent and child get-together

The first Saturday in December : The students, their parents (guardians), the graduates, and others get together and enjoy playing “Igo” and “ bingo”.

Other activities for children

Dokusho Koushien

“Dokusho Koushien” is a reading circle contest for high school students sponsored by the Asahi Newspaper .
In October, 2010, team Lin from Educational Support for Children from Overseas (ESCO) received the prize, “Tokubetsu Shourei-shou”

Junior-senior high school student get-together

Gatherings were held in February, 2010 and in June, 2011.
